David works for DeCare Dental as the Wellness and Health Promotion Manager for DeCare Dental for Ireland and Europe. David Casey, RDN holds a national certificate in biology and a specialist in oral health. He is currently completing his M.A. in Health Promotion with specialist interest in mental health and workplace health promotion at the school of Medicine, Nursing and Health Science at NUI Galway.
David has over 10 years clinical experience in healthcare and has worked over the last 6 years designing, building and implementing wellness and education programs for over 500 companies, organisations and healthcare settings across Ireland and the UK. He has also completed courses in essentials in palliative care training and essentials in Dementia care training. He has worked part time as a tutor for the N.E.D.B.N, National Diploma in Dental Nursing and guest lectures with Dublin Dental University Hospital TCD with both the Dental hygiene and Dental Nursing program. In June 2014, Dave was awarded the Annual Special Care Dental Professional Award from the Irish Society for Disability and Oral Health and most recently awarded the Irish Gerontology Society’s 2017 Presidential Award for his research on health promotion and the ageing population. Dave is trained as a (NCSCT) trained and certificated as a Tabacco Cessation Practitioner from the National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training. Dave has worked across a broad spectrum of areas including care of the elderly, palliative care and oral oncology. I have designed and run a training program with DeCare in Oral Care for nurses/doctors and carers that is fully approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland with continuing education units attached.
